MOVIE HOUSE IN DAMAGE CONTROL Live

Paramount Pictures is in damage control, and has released an apology after a movie poster gaffe sparked outrage.

A promotional poster for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been released, unfortunately and accidentally referencing 9/11, along with the film's heroes falling out of an exploding skycraper.

The unintentional connection to terrorist attacks on New York's World Trade Centre a decade ago, has been met with swift backlash and outrage on social media.

The tweet was deleted soon after and Paramount Australia issued a statement saying "combining that image and date was a mistake".

"We are deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia," they said. "We intended no offence and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use."
